The kind of people...

I just needed to share about the kind of people we have as volunteers in ISCF Grenada...

The kind of people who make the relevant phone calls to ensure that the venue you have in mind for a cake sale is legit so you will not be harrassed by members of the Royal Grenada Police Force.

Selling on the pavement opposite the market
The kind of people who will help you figure out the logistics for the cake sale even though they would not be able to make it.

Cakes donated by our youngest supporter, 12 years old
The kind of people who will start making a cake at 11pm the night before because they got home late from work and still wanted to keep their commitment.

The kind of people who would get home from a long week of work and labour in the kitchen to get their cakes baked in time.

The  full spread, before the slicing
The kind of people who would stay up until 1am slicing cake and banana bread and putting it into bags.

The kind of people who would wake up at 4am to make a cake in time for the sale, and then when it breaks because they cut it too soon, would buy a batch of cookies from the bakery so they could still honor their commitment to contribute to the cake sale.

Me: What kind of cake is it?
Jim: The colorful kind...
The kind of people who would get up at 4:30am after going to bed at 1am to ensure that we get in town early enough to reserve a good spot. And would stay with you for four hours selling cake.

Not ashamed to use our secret
weapon (cute girls) to sell our cakes
The kind of people who would bring their young children with them to spend 3 hours selling cake at the side of the road on a Saturday morning.

He memorised the prices of the different
kinds of cake in no time at all!
The kind of people who would call during the day just to find out how things were going because they couldn't be there.

The kind of people who would call their friends on Sunday morning and tell them they had to buy the cake that was left over from Saturday.

All sold out!
The one thing that made this cake sale a success was relationships. People were not as interested in buying cake, as they were to supporting the cause that someone they knew was a part of. The fact that all the items were donated so all our sales were profits helped as well :)

Big thanks to Giggles, Pumpkin, Teddy Bear, Bubbly, J Cool, Jim, Shiyanne and  Sister Wilma for your commitment to this ministry!
